Been practicing my figure drawing a bit lately and finally had a bit of inspiration in the character of Merle Dixon from The Walking Dead TV series. I don't have a model so I used a pose from posemaniacs.com I plan on transferring this to my PC and working on a Photoshop version in the near future. Mechanical pencil on Drawing pad.

These are a series of Wallpapers I created for the community of players of a Zombie-apocalypse survival game called "DayZ".  I used the elements from a Server poster I made for a customer and completely began again. each piece in the wallpaper is a different item that I extracted from different sources and turned into individual PNG files that I could then individually manipulate and place over a separate background. I then altered the items by use of a filter and then added in shading and highlights to give them a more 3-D feel. I then added the items together and introduced an overall shading technique... then added in the logo of the game. By adding in each element individually I was able to alter the background to whatever I wanted.  I did these for my own entertainment and presented them to the DayZ community via a forum and their reception was quite appreciated. Made using Photoshop CS4 and a Wacom tablet.

This is a Server Splash page I made for Customer for a Video-game server introduction screen. All of the models were made and altered by me using Photoshop and flat 2D images, pieced together and shaded to look as if they were in the same plane. Lettering and Logo according to the customers wants. I enjoyed the project, especially seeing as how I used to love The A-Team so much when i was younger...  okay, so I still do.

This is a design I made for a sporty ninja for a friend. A combination of classical ninja garb in a more modern sporty fashion. I think his leg looks a bit off because of the angle, but overall I liked the outcome.  Pen & Ink on Card-stock.

This is a picture of batman fighting a clan of ninjas... I got the idea from an old Frank Miller Wolverine book from the 80's. I didn't get the proportions right on batman, but I did like how the overall image came out. I'll have to try again I guess.  Pen & Ink on Card-stock.

This is a Bad-Cop character I came up with for no real purpose other than to draw. A friend named him Tiberius Jenkins and it just stuck. I got the inspiration from Ice-T's character on Law & Order. In retrospect I wish I had made him look dirtier and more war-torn, but these were drawn a while ago and I hate to alter my past work. This was done with Pen & Ink on card-stock.

This is a picture I did of what I thought Captain America and Iron Man would look like if they took place in Medieval times instead of modern times. It just seemed fitting considering the Armor and Shield.

This is a fun one I drew of a woman fighting a Great White Shark. I like a more curvier woman's shape as apposed to most overly fit Supermodel types drawn in most comic books. Just seems more real and pleasing. This was another I drew completely from memory. Pen & Ink on Card-stock.

This is a picture I drew of a character I draw sometimes fighting the Incredible Hulk with a magical battle-mace. I don't know why, just thought it would be cool. It was. Pen & Ink on card-stock.

These are some photos I took of some knives that were made by the guy who has been teaching me to forge knives. As a favor to him, I created a logo for him, set up an email address and took some glamour shots of a few of his finished products, edited in Photoshop of course. As far as photography goes, I used my 8 Megapixel camera on my phone and did all the post-processing in Photoshop CS4. I also created the logo and placed it on a blank background as a PNG file so that I can alter it's size and shape and overlay it on whatever image I want. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

I have been learning to forge knives from a man who has become more of a friend than a mentor over the past couple of years. Although, due to work and school I have not been able to get out to see him and make anything in quite a while, but I plan on making more knives very soon and hopefully selling a few. I enjoy the process almost as much as I do the final project. Together we spent quite a bit of time learning how to get a nice "S" curve in the nickle-silver guard, that went nicely with the overall curvature of the blade... adding nicely to it's aesthetics. The Black-Palm wood that I chose to make the handle was almost as hard as the steel and was quite difficult to drill properly to fit the 3/4 tang into just right. We ended up filling the gaps in with epoxy, which only added to the strength of the handle. It has a great balance that fits perfectly right behind the guard on the handle and we finished the handle with a curvat...

A friend of mine introduced me to a guy that forges knives. After hanging out with him and getting to know each other he agreed to teach us how to forge knives as long as we paid for our own materials. After watching him make a couple of knives, he began teaching us how to do it ourselves. For my first knife I said I wanted to do a large curved blade, which he said was very difficult, but I had my brain and heart set on this design. I also wanted to do a clay treatment on the blade, which he had never done before, so we learned how together. Needless to say we were both quite pleased and impressed with my first go at forging a blade and fixing a proper handle. Hand forged Japanese-style blade made of 1080 High-carbon steel. Full Tang. Overall length 16 inches. Blade length 9-3/4 inches. Olive micarta handle 6-1/4 inches. And we  Clay-fire treated the blade twice , which gives it that smokey look to the metal. Sometimes an image can be used to try to illicit an emotional response .. much like a child can try to make you feel a certain way with a face.

Sometimes it's just nice when you can catch a moment.

This is a photo I took at Clearwater Beach, my nephew in the foreground. Played with the levels just a bit, but other than that, it's mostly nature making this photo so beautiful.

This is a photo i manipulated of my incredible Grandfather.He is the predominant male figure in my life and my personal Hero. I had to get rid of some of the background of this photo because it was taken at a family funeral and there were some folks and headstones in the background that took away from the focus of the subject. So I got rid of them. Using CS4 Photoshop, I eliminated the people in the back and blended in the background and added in a bit of color. Below is the original.
