Stillwell Art

These are a series of Wallpapers I created for the community of players of a Zombie-apocalypse survival game called "DayZ".  I used the elements from a Server poster I made for a customer and completely began again. each piece in the wallpaper is a different item that I extracted from different sources and turned into individual PNG files that I could then individually manipulate and place over a separate background. I then altered the items by use of a filter and then added in shading and highlights to give them a more 3-D feel. I then added the items together and introduced an overall shading technique... then added in the logo of the game. By adding in each element individually I was able to alter the background to whatever I wanted.  I did these for my own entertainment and presented them to the DayZ community via a forum and their reception was quite appreciated. Made using Photoshop CS4 and a Wacom tablet.

This is a digital rendering of some of my favorite weapons from a game that I play. I spent a lot of time removing these items from their original pieces and eliminating the backgrounds and the anti-aliasing that came along with the process. I then had to touch up the edges and even rebuild some areas of the guns. Then I added shading and shadowing to make the pieces all look like they were in the same environment.   Below is the same rendering with a variation on the background. and

This is a wallpaper that I made for some folks at an online community I belong to who enjoy the BATTLEFIELD 3 game. The various images were pulled from different locations and the rifle had to be fixed quite a bit as it was sitting on some carpet that blurred out the bottom edges. I also had to deal with a bit of light splash-back from camera flash. 

This is a poster I made up for the popular Video-game BATTLEFIELD 3. I just made it to play around with my skills and see how people liked it. Created in Photoshop CS4.

This is a color version I did of the digital drawing I did of Abraham Lincoln. Using the drawing as a template, I added tone and color to round out the face more and jazzed up the background a bit to make it more interesting.This piece was created for my Digital Art class in college and was printed out and mounted to a hard matte backing. This is a cartoonist image of Sherlock Holmes that I did for my Digital Art class. It was hand drawn using a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop CS4. I particularly enjoyed doing the cloth patterns in this piece.

This is another piece I did for my Digital art class in college. I had a beautiful model for this piece. I wanted to give this piece the grainy look of old romantic comic-strips from the 50's or 60's. I Rotoscoped the original image and then altered it using Photoshop. It was then printed and mounted on a hard poster-board backing.

This is another image I did for my Digital Art class in college. It was an attempt to make an action/war oriented comic-book cover. I modeled for the image, which I then Rotoscoped and altered using Photoshop. The piece was then printed and mounted on a poster-board backing. I had a lot of fun with this particular piece.

This is a piece I did for my Digital Art class. My intention was to make it look like the cover of an old crime comic from the silver age of comic-books. I posed as the model myself, then Rotoscoped and altered the image until I came up with the above results. The piece was then printed out and mounted on a poster-board backing.

This is a piece I did for my Digital Art class I took in College. I had them printed out and placed on a Matt poster-board background. This particular image was taken from a photo of Brittany Spears and Rotoscoped and altered into the image above. I had a lot of fun doing the hair.

This is a digital image of a Pirate P-51 Mustang I took a photo of at one of the airshows I frequent. I was just learning how to use the burn and dodge tools here so the shading seems a bit extreme. I personally enjoy the final outcome.

This is an image I did of a beautiful blue biplane I saw at one of the airshows I attend. I had some fun with the wood on the props on this one. I really enjoyed the balance of color as well.

This is a digital image I made based on a photo of one of the Thunderbirds from an airshow that my grandfather and I went to. The camera stopped the action of the jet screaming by dead-still, but I wanted to portray that speed in this digital image I made for a book for one of my drawing classes. Made using Photoshop CS4.

This is a digital piece I did for a book I made for one of my drawing classes in college. I was still learning quite a great deal about Photoshop then and playing around with gradients and the such. It came out a lot rougher than I expected due to using the wrong amount of pixels per inch in my original piece.

This is a digital piece I did for one of my drawing classes. It is of a P-38 Lightning fighter plane. One of my grandfather's favorite airplanes. There is only one left in the world that still flies. This image was drawn from a picture I took of that particular airplane.

This was a piece I did for my digital art class. At this point I was still learning how to use the ins and outs of Photoshop. The ghost is me. 

This is a digital drawing I did of Abraham Lincoln. I have always had a little fascination with Honest Abe, as he lived quite the incredible life. This was also the first time I ever picked up a digital Wacom tablet at my school for my Digital Art class in college.
