Pirate mustang

This is a digital image of a Pirate P-51 Mustang I took a photo of at one of the airshows I frequent. I was just learning how to use the burn and dodge tools here so the shading seems a bit extreme. I personally enjoy the final outcome.

Blue Biplane

This is an image I did of a beautiful blue biplane I saw at one of the airshows I attend. I had some fun with the wood on the props on this one. I really enjoyed the balance of color as well.

Thunderbird

This is a digital image I made based on a photo of one of the Thunderbirds from an airshow that my grandfather and I went to. The camera stopped the action of the jet screaming by dead-still, but I wanted to portray that speed in this digital image I made for a book for one of my drawing classes. Made using Photoshop CS4.

Red & White Biplane

This is a digital piece I did for a book I made for one of my drawing classes in college. I was still learning quite a great deal about Photoshop then and playing around with gradients and the such. It came out a lot rougher than I expected due to using the wrong amount of pixels per inch in my original piece.

P-38 Lightning

This is a digital piece I did for one of my drawing classes. It is of a P-38 Lightning fighter plane. One of my grandfather's favorite airplanes. There is only one left in the world that still flies. This image was drawn from a picture I took of that particular airplane.

Ceramic Demon Dog

This is a ceramic Demon Dog I made in Ceramics 1 in college. It was the first non-bowl sculpture I had attempted for the class. Below is what it looked like before glazing and firing the piece. Everyone, including the teacher was quite impressed with his tongue of all things. At the end of the class we had to present our final piece in front of the class and recite a piece of poetry that we felt went along with the theme of our piece. For mine I chose Edgar Allen Poe's poem entitled Demon in my View . From childhood's hour I have not been As others were — I have not seen As others saw — I could not bring My passions from a common spring — From the same source I have not taken My sorrow — I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone — And all I lov'd — I lov'd alone — Then  — in my childhood — in the dawn Of a most stormy life — was drawn From ev'ry depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still — From the torrent, or the fountain ...

EAA Fly-in Airshow photos

One of my favorite hobbies is going to Air Shows with my Grandfather. He is an encyclopedia of information. I love taking photographs of the various aircraft. I try my hardest to get the lighting and the time of day just right so that there is a minimum, if any need for alteration to the photographs. None of these were altered in any way. Taken with my Samsung Galaxy S II.
